Līva Ķīse serves as an Acting Researcher at Rīga Stradiņš University's Faculty of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, while concurrently working as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Riga Maternity Hospital since October 2021. She is actively pursuing her Ph.D. with research focused on critical obstetric challenges. Her research interests span Obstetrics and Gynaecology , with specialized expertise in Labor Induction techniques , Postpartum Depression screening, Intrauterine Infection diagnostics, and Biomarker development for preterm birth prediction. Her work significantly contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals in healthcare and maternal wellness. Analysis of her 25+ publications (2017-2025) reveals a strong clinical research trajectory with recent emphasis on maternal mental health (2024-2025 depression/anxiety studies) and advanced diagnostic methodologies (ultrasound parameters, sonoelastography for labor induction). Her publications consistently address practical clinical challenges in Latvian maternity care. Lead researcher on Non-Invasive Diagnostic Markers for Intrauterine Infection (2024-2028) Key contributor to Advancing Postpartum Depression Care in Latvia (European Commission project) Expert in Role of metabolome in labor induction (Latvian Council of Science) With 16 documented professional activities (2021-2025) including 8 poster presentations and 6 oral presentations, she actively disseminates findings at conferences. Her clinical work at Riga Maternity Hospital directly informs her research on improving maternal outcomes through evidence-based protocols.
