His interests include generative art, glitch aesthetics, hauntology, and drone-based performances, often exploring how chaos theory and postmodern frameworks reshape artistic creation. His scholarly publications focus on theatre theory, digital performance cultures, and postdramatic pedagogy. Recent work examines light as a theatrical medium, digital art ecosystems, and adaptations of classical texts. A consistent theme is the destabilization of traditional narratives through technology and interdisciplinary inquiry. Wilcox has collaborated with groups like the SITI Company, studying Suzuki and Viewpoints techniques, and advocates for sustaining creative rigor beyond institutional contexts. He mentors through workshops but does not currently supervise formal graduate students.
