Demelza Jones is a researcher at the University of Gloucestershire's Countryside and Community Research Institute (CCRI), focusing on social inequalities, rural community liveability, and qualitative participatory methods. She has held research and teaching roles at the University of Birmingham, Aston University, and the University of Gloucestershire, while maintaining affiliations with organizations like the Ministry of Justice, Defra, and the Rural Housing Network. Qualifications: PGCert in Higher Education Teaching (2015), Aston University PhD in Sociology (2013), University of Bristol MSc in Social Science Research Methods (2009), University of Bristol MA in Global Citizenship, Identities and Human Rights (2007), University of Nottingham Her research explores rural liveability for younger and lower-income residents, social inequalities in access to nature through initiatives like Forest School/Outdoor Learning, and impacts of austerity on low-income families. She has collaborated on projects including the Horizon Europe RUSTIK project and evaluations of rural housing, community infrastructure, and nature connection programs. Analysis of her publications reveals recurring themes in rural sociology, migration studies, and qualitative methodologies. Her work spans topics from demographic imbalance drivers to sociological critiques of diaspora theory and studies of religious practices in multicultural contexts.
