Rubia Valente is an Associate Professor at the Marxe School of Public and International Affairs, Baruch College (CUNY), with a research focus on applying advanced quantitative methods to analyze socioeconomic inequalities and policy impacts on marginalized groups. Her expertise spans Urban Studies, Happiness Studies, Race/Ethnicity, and Social Indicators, with regional emphasis on Latin America and Brazil.
She earned her Ph.D. in Public Policy and Political Economy from The University of Texas at Dallas and has held post-doctoral and visiting roles at UT Dallas and Princeton University. Her grants include PSC-CUNY awards for urban-rural happiness gradients and skin tone measurement in Brazil.
