Suzana J. Camargo is a Professor of Climate at Columbia University's Columbia Climate School and the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. She holds adjunct roles in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences and the School of Professional Studies. Her research focuses on tropical cyclones, climate variability, and extreme weather events. Camargo has a Ph.D. in Physics from the Technical University of Munich and has been a leader in climate science for over two decades.
