Lev A. Sviridov serves as Director of the Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College since 2014 and holds the rank of Assistant Professor of Chemistry. He is affiliated with CUNY’s Energy Institute and previously worked as a Senior Research Associate at the University of Oxford. His expertise spans inorganic chemistry, materials science, and geological processes. Education: D.Phil. in Inorganic Chemistry (University of Oxford), B.S. (City College) Research Interests: Electrochemistry for energy storage, battery materials development, igneous processes in continental dynamics, and geologic mapping of volcanic formations. His publications focus on battery cathode design, in situ material analysis, and geologic studies of Pangaea-related igneous activity. Presentations include work on manganese oxides in batteries and stratigraphic analysis of basalt flows. He actively collaborates on interdisciplinary projects merging chemistry, materials science, and geology.
