Dr. Csaba Csides is a Hungarian linguist who has been serving as an Associate Professor at the Department of English Linguistics , Institute of English Studies , Károli Gáspár Reformed University since 2001. Previously, he held temporary lecturer positions at Eötvös Loránd University (1999-2001), Pázmány Péter Catholic University (1999-2000), and Dániel Berzsenyi Teacher Training College (1997-1998). Education: PhD in Linguistics (2006, Eötvös Loránd University) with thesis Two-way governance in CV phonology and MA in English Language and Literature (1997, ELTE BTK). Research Interests: Modern English linguistics focusing on phonetics, phonology, morphology, and general linguistics, particularly CV phonology, consonant lenition, vowel-length alternations, and stress assignment mechanisms. Publications: His research explores the theoretical and practical aspects of English phonology, including consonant clusters, stress diagnostics, vowel classification, and syllable structure, with a strong emphasis on CV phonology and cross-linguistic comparisons. Scientific Awards: Recipient of the Outstanding Thesis Award (1997) and three Hungarian State Eötvös Scholarships (2001-2004). Academic Activities: Member of the Theoretical and Experimental Linguistics Research Group (2021-2024), participant in international conferences (e.g., Olomouc Linguistics Colloquium 2023), and organizer of academic events like the Interfaces in English Linguistics Conference (2012) and Theoretical and Experimental Linguistics Workshop (2023).
