Professor Ryszard Płuciennik is a distinguished academic at Poznań University of Technology, holding a position in the Institute of Mathematics within the Faculty of Automatic Control, Robotics and Electrical Engineering. With a career spanning several decades, he has established himself as a leading researcher in functional analysis, particularly in the geometric properties of Banach spaces and Orlicz spaces. His research interests focus on geometric properties of function spaces , including λ-properties, monotonicity properties, Kadec-Klee properties, and von Neumann-Jordan constants. Professor Płuciennik's work bridges theoretical mathematics with applications in computer science, as reflected in his dual disciplinary classification (50% Mathematics, 50% Computer Science). His recent publications demonstrate continued scholarly activity, with significant contributions appearing in journals such as Journal of Convex Analysis and Banach Journal of Mathematical Analysis through 2022. These works analyze the geometric structure of various function spaces, contributing to fundamental understanding in mathematical analysis. Professor Płuciennik has supervised multiple doctoral students to completion and has served as a reviewer for numerous doctoral dissertations. His academic career includes authoring a doctoral dissertation on integral operators in generalized Orlicz spaces completed in 1982 under Julian Musielak's supervision. His scholarly output includes 16 scientific articles and a research report titled 'Functional spaces and their applications' (2021), demonstrating sustained research productivity throughout his career.
