Dr. Jonathan Elsey is a Visiting Research Fellow in the Department of Meteorology at the University of Reading, where he serves as Postdoctoral Research Assistant on the EU-funded MAPP (Metrology for Aerosol oPtical Properties) project. His work focuses on quantifying aerosol optical properties using the UK Met Office SOCRATES radiative transfer code within a Monte Carlo framework to reduce uncertainties in radiative forcing calculations. Previously, he held a Postdoctoral Research Assistant role on the ASPIC project analyzing laboratory data at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory.
