Mariya Burdina is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Central Oklahoma. She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from the University of Colorado, an M.A. in Transportation Economics from North Dakota State University, and a B.B.A. in Management of Industrial Organizations from Kiev National Economic University. Her research focuses on behavioral economics, pedagogical strategies in higher education, and the interplay between socioeconomic factors and human behavior. Key research areas include the relationship between goal-setting and performance, effectiveness of teaching techniques for Generation Y/Z students, and the psychological impacts of environmental disasters like Chornobyl. She has published extensively on topics ranging from property crime analysis to stock market reactions to regulations, demonstrating expertise across applied economics domains.
