Zhiyu Jiang is a Professor and Vice Dean for Research and Innovation at the Department of Engineering Sciences , University of Agder , Norway. He holds a Ph.D. in Marine Structures (2014, NTNU) and M.Eng./B.Eng. from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. Research Focus : Offshore structural engineering, marine structures, offshore renewable energy (floating wind turbines, floating solar), and marine operations. Academic Roles : Associate Editor for Journal of Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering , Editorial Board member at Renewable Energy and SN Applied Sciences . Teaching : Courses in steel/timber design, fatigue, structural dynamics, risk management, and offshore environmental loads. His research explores mooring systems , aquaculture structures , and multi-purpose offshore platforms , with recent work on floating solar arrays and shared mooring for wind farms. He leads experimental and numerical studies of offshore structures under extreme conditions.
