Dr. Mavinakere Eshwaraiah Raghunandan is an Associate Professor at Monash University Malaysia School of Engineering, specializing in geotechnical and environmental engineering solutions. His research develops sustainable ground improvement techniques and climate-resilient infrastructure systems. Education: PhD from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (2007-2011) Postdoctoral Fellow at University of Regina, Canada (2011-2012) His work focuses on hazard assessment, soil behavior under dynamic loading, environmental geotechnology, and sustainable material applications. Key innovations include biochar-enhanced soil stabilization, landfill liner systems using industrial byproducts, and remediation techniques for contaminated soils. Geotechnical research shows consistent focus on sustainable material reuse (fly ash, rubber, biochar) for soil stabilization. Environmental applications demonstrate strong momentum in heavy metal removal from mining wastewater using optimized biochar filters.
