Dr. Haiyan Li is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. Prior to joining RMIT in 2021 as a Vice-Chancellor’s Senior Research Fellow, she held tenured roles as Associate Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s School of Biomedical Engineering (2011–2020). She earned her Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering in 2005 and completed postdoctoral research at Monash University (Australia) and INSERM (France). Her research focuses on bioactive hydrogels, tissue engineering, and 3D printing, supported by grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and CASS Foundation (Australia). She has published over 119 peer-reviewed articles, holds 8 patents, and supervised numerous research projects. Dr. Li is also the Program Manager for the Biomedical Engineering Honours program (BH069) and actively engages in teaching and mentoring.
