Dr. Gemma Morgan is a Senior Lecturer in Criminology, Sociology, and Social Policy at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences , Swansea University. Her research focuses on desistance, digital technology in criminal justice, youth offending, evaluation methodology, and co-production. She collaborates with public, private, and third-sector organizations to bridge academia and practice. Key Research Areas: Desistance/rehabilitation, digital technology in criminal justice, youth justice, co-production, evaluation research. Notable Work: Lead inventor of the My Journey app for prisoner rehabilitation, co-produced with Legal Innovation Lab Wales and Include UK. Grants & Projects: Principal Investigator for Ministry of Justice and Welsh Government-funded initiatives, including piloting the My Journey app. Recent Publications: 2025 studies on digital justice accessibility, co-production principles, and therapeutic interventions in family abuse cases. Earlier works include evaluations of Welsh youth justice practices and frameworks for evidence-based policy.
