Stefano Modafferi

Dr. Stefano Modafferi is a Principal Enterprise Fellow and Project Manager at the University of Southampton's Digital Health and Biomedical Engineering (DHBE) and IT Innovation Centre. He holds a PhD in Information Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and has extensive experience in research projects and industry collaboration since 2012. His expertise spans Process Management, Service Oriented Architecture, and Software Architecture. He coordinates and leads major EU-funded initiatives, including the GRAVITATE, ZDMP, and EFPF projects. Modafferi has over 20 scientific publications and is a Prince2 certified project manager.

Research Interests: Risk Modelling, Data-driven Business Models, Enterprise Architectures, Knowledge Management, and SME/Startup outreach. His work focuses on cybersecurity, digital manufacturing, and data-driven innovation.

Active Projects: DS2 (Data Lifecycle Risks), FAITH (AI Trustworthiness), and DataPACT (Compliance in Data/AI Operations). Completed projects include EFPF, ZDMP, and Spyderisk.

Grants & Funding: Involved in Horizon 2020 and EU-funded projects, emphasizing collaborative research in Industry 4.0 and digital transformation.
