Dr. George Konstantinidis is an Associate Professor at the University of Southampton's Department of Computer Science. His research focuses on data privacy, federated learning, IoT security, and semantic web technologies, with a strong emphasis on ethical and regulatory aspects of data usage. He leads several EU-funded projects such as UPCAST and DataPACT, addressing challenges in data interoperability, consent management, and decentralized systems.
His research interests include privacy-preserving machine learning frameworks, modular data marketplace architectures, and the application of semantic web standards in distributed systems. Dr. Konstantinidis collaborates with industry and academic partners to develop solutions for secure data exchange and compliance with regulations like GDPR.
Recent publications highlight advancements in federated learning frameworks, consent management systems, and decentralized knowledge graph applications. He has been awarded the Alan Turing Fellowship, recognizing his contributions to trustworthy AI systems and data governance.
