Andreas Mierau is a Professor at LUNEX International University of Health, Exercise & Sports. His research focuses on the neural correlates of sensorimotor performance, physical activity’s effects on neuro-cognitive functions, and motor-cognitive interactions across the lifespan. He previously held a position at the Institute of Movement and Neurosciences. Research interests include neurophysiological methods (EEG analysis, cortico-cortical coherence), cardiorespiratory fitness assessments, and sensorimotor skill evaluation. His work bridges运动科学与神经科学, exploring how physical activity influences brain function and aging. Key projects include 'Mind in Motion' and studies on the relationship between interhemispheric transfer time and physical fitness in older adults. Collaborations span neuroscience, gerontology, and exercise psychology. Notable publications explore brain networks during motor-cognitive tasks, white matter integrity in aging, and the impact of physical activity on cognitive performance. Grants include funding from DLR and third-party initiatives.
