Abolfazl Asudeh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois Chicago and director of the Innovative Data Exploration Laboratory (InDeX Lab) . He is a Senior Member of ACM and IEEE , serving as Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering , VLDB Ambassador , and VLDB Endowment Liaison to NSF . His research focuses on Algorithm Design for Data and AI problems , emphasizing efficient, accurate, and responsible solutions through Approximation Algorithms , Randomized Methods , and Computational Geometry . Recent work explores LLM optimization ( Needle ), fair data structures ( FairHash ), and responsible AI frameworks ( Chameleon ).
