Abolfazl Asudeh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois Chicago and director of the Innovative Data Exploration Laboratory (InDeX Lab). He is a Senior Member of ACM and IEEE, serving as Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, VLDB Ambassador, and VLDB Endowment Liaison to NSF.
His research focuses on Algorithm Design for Data and AI problems, emphasizing efficient, accurate, and responsible solutions through Approximation Algorithms, Randomized Methods, and Computational Geometry. Recent work explores LLM optimization (Needle), fair data structures (FairHash), and responsible AI frameworks (Chameleon).
