Professor Po-Ju Chen holds a faculty position at Texas A&M University, Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management within the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences. She has held prior roles including Associate Executive Director at North Arizona University’s School of Hotel and Restaurant Management and Chair of Hospitality and Tourism Administration at North Carolina Central University. Her research focuses on consumer behavior, service management, and strategic tourism initiatives, with emphasis on social media, sustainability, and cross-cultural studies. Dr. Chen earned her B.A. in Accounting from Tamkang University, M.Sc. in Hotels, Restaurants and Recreation Management, and Ph.D. in Leisure Studies from Pennsylvania State University. She has been recognized with multiple awards including two Fulbright Scholarships, the John Wiley & Sons Teaching Innovation Award, and Best Paper Awards in tourism journals. Her professional activities include editorial roles for Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Education and board positions with the International Society of Travel and Tourism Educators. Research interests span hospitality technology adoption, value co-creation, and strategic management in tourism sectors. Notable achievements include partnerships with destination management organizations and theme parks, development of industry training programs, and leadership in sustainability initiatives like Rosen Hotels’ total sustainability model. She has also contributed to policy analysis through roles like Institute of Internal Auditors’ primary data analyst.
