Marita Zimmermann is an Affiliate Assistant Professor at the University of Washington School of Pharmacy and a Senior Research Economist at the Institute for Disease Modeling (Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation). She is a health economist, epidemiologist, and global health researcher specializing in econometric modeling, cost-effectiveness analysis, and policy-relevant research. Education : PhD in Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research & Policy Studies (University of Washington), MPH in Epidemiology (Brown University), BS in Chemical Engineering & Biomedical Engineering (Carnegie Mellon University). Research Focus : High-impact work in global health economics, HIV/AIDS, cervical cancer screening, contraceptive access, and disease transmission modeling. Recent Publications include agent-based models for family planning ( FPsim/FPsim+ ), cost-effectiveness studies on HPV vaccination, HIV treatment optimization in Mozambique, and economic evaluations of interventions for dementia and endometrial cancer.
