Sunasir Dutta is an Assistant Professor of Strategic Management & Entrepreneurship at the Carlson School of Management , University of Minnesota. His research bridges organization theory, social entrepreneurship, and strategic management, focusing on how communities and organizations respond to crises, build technological ecosystems, and leverage collective action for innovation. Education: Ph.D. in Business Administration (2014), Stanford Graduate School of Business Postgraduate Diploma in Management (2008), Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow B. Tech (Hons) and M. Tech in Chemical Engineering (2006), Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur Research Interests center on social entrepreneurship, organizational responses to natural disasters, and the role of spatial connectedness in innovation. His work explores how demand shocks (e.g., in the electric vehicle industry) and infrastructure changes catalyze entrepreneurial ecosystems. Recent publications examine knowledge spillovers in nonmetro areas and the interplay between associational diversity and post-disaster recovery. Peer-reviewed publications span journals like Academy of Management Journal , Strategy Science , and Administrative Science Quarterly , with methodological expertise in quantitative analysis.
