Dora Bianchi is a researcher in tenure track (RTT) at the Department of Developmental and Socialization Psychology at Sapienza University of Rome. Her academic journey includes positions as a postdoctoral researcher (2022–2025) and research assistant (2018–2021). She holds a PhD in Developmental Psychology and Research in Education from Sapienza (2014–2017) and specialized in systemic-relational psychotherapy (2012–2016). Her research focuses on adolescent risk behaviors, mental health resilience, and the psychological well-being of vulnerable populations, including immigrants and LGBTQ+ individuals. She teaches courses like "Psychology of Education" and actively contributes to social skills interventions for autistic adolescents through the PEERS® program. Research interests include sexting behaviors, cyberbullying, pandemic-related mental health crises, and the intersection of cultural values (individualism/collectivism) with health behaviors. Her work spans cross-cultural analyses (e.g., 11-country studies on sexting and dark triad traits) and emphasizes protective factors such as peer acceptance and cognitive reappraisal. She leads research groups on minority well-being and has published extensively in journals like Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders and Frontiers in Psychology . Key themes in her articles include the psychological impact of the pandemic on substance use, the moderating role of emotional regulation in risky behaviors, and the relationship between family functioning and adolescent distress. Her studies often bridge developmental psychology with public health, addressing societal challenges such as school dropout prevention and social inclusion of marginalized youth.
