Dr. Jawwad Qureshi serves as an Associate Professor at the Southwest Florida Research and Education Center (SWFREC), University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS). His research focuses on developing integrated pest and disease management strategies for citrus and vegetable crops, with particular emphasis on the Asian citrus psyllid and Huanglongbing (HLB) disease. He leads extension programs educating stakeholders on pest identification, biological control, and IPM implementation through field demonstrations, workshops, and publications. Research interests: Insect-plant interactions, biological and chemical control methods, protected production systems, and sustainable agriculture. Key contributions: Development of screening tools for ACP, evaluation of reflective mulch for pest exclusion, and parasitoid wasp research for soft scale control.
