Lubos Pastor is the Charles P. McQuaid Distinguished Service Professor of Finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He has taught at Chicago Booth since 1999 and holds leadership positions including President of the European Finance Association and board membership at the Fama-Miller Center for Research in Finance. His external roles include directorships at Vanguard, advisory positions at the Andersen Institute for Finance & Economics, and the CRSP Index Advisory Council. He earned his PhD in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. His teaching excellence has been recognized with the McKinsey Award for Excellence in Teaching and two Faculty Excellence Awards. Professor Pastor's research focuses on financial markets, investment management, sustainable finance, and government policy. His work examines the intersection of market efficiency, environmental factors, and political dynamics, with recent emphasis on ESG investing, climate risk pricing, and quantitative easing impacts. His publications demonstrate sustained focus on asset pricing innovations, market liquidity, and political economy, with recent expansion into sustainable finance. Research consistently integrates empirical rigor with theoretical frameworks to address contemporary financial challenges.
