Jessica Peters is an Assistant Professor and Track Director for the DNP Adult-Gerontological Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Track at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. With over 15 years of clinical experience in critical care, she has served as an acute care nurse practitioner at Johns Hopkins Hospital since 2009 and as adjunct clinical faculty since 2015. Her clinical expertise spans trauma critical care, palliative care, and pulmonary nursing, with a focus on patient-family centered care and care coordination for complex medical and surgical patients. Education Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), Johns Hopkins University (2015) Post-Masters Nurse Educator Certificate, Johns Hopkins University (2015) Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), University of Miami School of Nursing (2003 recipient of Academic Excellence Book Award) Her research and practice emphasize reducing unplanned critical care readmissions, improving transitional care, and enhancing interprofessional communication through quality improvement initiatives. She has mentored Fuld Fellows in patient safety projects and contributed to critical care nursing education through curriculum development. Research Trends : Jessica's academic output focuses on critical care challenges, including post-COVID complications, transitional care models, and system-wide preparedness for emerging healthcare demands. Her work bridges clinical practice with nursing education and policy development.
