She currently holds the position of Co-leader of the Doctoral School (since 2025) and previously directed the Institute of Social, Economic and Humanities Research (HESPI) from 2013 to 2024. Professor Livina also serves as Director of the joint PhD programme 'Economics and Business' and holds significant governance roles including membership on the Research Council and Senate. Her educational background includes a PhD in Economics from Latvia University of Agriculture (1996-2005), a Certificate of English proficiency from English and Foreign Languages University in Hyderabad (2014), and master studies coursework at University at Buffalo (2022). Professor Livina is recognized by the Latvian Council of Science as an expert in both Social Sciences - Economics and Entrepreneurship (valid until 2028) and Natural Sciences - Earth Sciences, Physical Geography, and Environmental Sciences (valid until 2026).
