Prof. Dr. Stefan Töpfl is a Professor of Food Process Engineering at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, affiliated with the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Landscape Architecture. His research focuses on innovative non-thermal food processing technologies, energy efficiency, and process optimization. He holds a Dr.-Ing. from TU Berlin (2006) and a Dipl.-Ing. in Food Technology (2002). Leads the Process Technology division at the German Institute of Food Technology (DIL) Founder of ELEA GmbH, commercializing pulsed electric field equipment Recipient of the Georg-Carl-Hahn Research Prize (2009) Research interests include PEF (pulsed electric fields), high-pressure processing, and shockwave technologies. He has published extensively on food preservation, process modeling, and equipment design. Collaborates with industry on projects funded by BMBF and EU. Active in professional societies like IFT and PPS.
