Jingsheng Ma is an Associate Professor in Multi-Physics Modelling in Porous Media at Heriot-Watt University's School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society. He holds dual affiliations with the Institute for GeoEnergy Engineering. His roles include Postgraduate Research Student Coordinator and membership in Senate committees. Education: BSc in Computational Mathematics (Lanzhou University, China), MSc in Computing (Beijing Institute of Computer and Simulation Technology), PhD in Geographical Information System (Sheffield University, UK). Joined Heriot-Watt University in 1997. Research focuses on reservoir engineering and fluid flow modeling in porous media. Key interests include: shale gas reservoir simulation, pore-scale lattice Boltzmann modeling, multi-scale rock characterization, and machine learning applications. Recent projects include EPSRC-funded gas flow studies (2015-2019) and industry collaborations on heavy oil recovery. His 129+ publications span porous media dynamics, CO2 sequestration, and reservoir rock analysis. Recent work emphasizes carbon neutrality solutions and seal rock integrity for geological storage. Active in international conferences and serves on organizing committees.
