معرفی
Alex Hansen is a Professor and Center Director of PoreLab SFF (Norwegian Centre of Excellence for Porous Media Research) at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). His expertise lies in complex matter physics, computational physics, and transport phenomena in disordered systems. He leads interdisciplinary research focusing on porous media, granular media, and non-equilibrium statistical physics.
Research interests include the physics of porous media, particularly immiscible two-phase flow dynamics, rheology of yield-stress fluids, and interfacial crack propagation. His work integrates theoretical models with experimental and numerical simulations, addressing challenges in reservoir engineering, environmental science, and materials failure.
Key contributions include developing statistical mechanics frameworks for two-phase flow, analyzing viscous fingering phenomena, and advancing pore network modeling techniques. His recent articles explore thermodynamic formalisms for multiphase flows, superdiffusion in active matter systems, and the role of wettability in porous media transport.
Hansen's research emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, bridging physics with geoscience and engineering. He oversees PoreLab, a hub for innovative studies on porous media across scales, from nanoscale material behavior to large-scale environmental systems.
