Malgorzata Smieszek-Rice is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Norwegian Fisheries College, UiT The Arctic University of Norway, based in Tromsø. She is an active member of the MARA research group, focusing on Arctic environmental and governance issues. Her research centers on Arctic governance, climate science policy, and marine environmental risks. Key areas include international cooperation through the Arctic Council, vulnerability assessment in the Arctic, and the ecological impacts of oil spills on polar cod. Her interdisciplinary work bridges environmental science and policy, contributing to sustainable development in the High North.
