Ward van Zoonen is an Associate Professor at the School of Business and Economics, University of Jyväskylä. His research focuses on the intersection of organizational behavior and technology, particularly how technologies shape interactions between individuals and organizations. Key areas include datafication of work, workplace surveillance, and remote work dynamics. He directs the EWIDE initiative studying technology's impact on work and well-being, and co-leads the CoCoDigi research group on digital platforms. His academic roles include associate editorship of European Management Journal and leadership in interdisciplinary projects like DataMedia (funded by Helsingin Sanomain Foundation, 2023–2024) and DataDoubles (Academy of Finland Fellowship, 2023–2027). His work emphasizes visibility through data, algorithmic control in crowdwork, and emotional expression in digital collaboration.
