Mareike Lisker is an External Doctoral Researcher at HTW Berlin - University of Applied Sciences and the University of Hamburg's Data Science group, jointly supervised by Prof. Anne Lauscher and Prof. Helena Mihaljević.
Her academic background includes:

- B.A. in Philosophy and Linguistics from Humboldt-University of Berlin
- M.A. in Theory and History of Science and Technology from Technical University Berlin (2023)
Her research critically examines digital literacy demands on users within pervasive tracking infrastructures, focusing on Web Science, Content Moderation, Social Media Platforms, and Ethics of AI. Her master's thesis argued that structural limitations prevent users from effectively controlling personal data despite rising digital literacy expectations.
She received the Junior Fellow award from the German Informatics Society in 2024.
Lisker contributes to interdisciplinary teams at both institutions, addressing societal implications of data science through the lens of political and ethical frameworks.
