Bennett Goldberg is a Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Northwestern University and former Director of the Searle Center for Advancing Learning and Teaching. He holds a PhD from Brown University (1987) and has held academic leadership roles including Chair of Physics at Boston University, Director of BU's Center for Nanoscience and Nanobiotechnology, and inaugural Director of STEM Education Initiatives. His dual focus spans nanoscale physics research and innovative STEM education, emphasizing inclusive pedagogy and faculty development. Goldberg's physics work includes nano-optics, 2D material strain physics, and advanced microscopy techniques. His educational contributions include co-creating the Postdoc Academy, leading national inclusive teaching initiatives, and developing MOOCs for STEM educators. He has been awarded the Presidential Young Investigator Award and Honorius Causa from UANL.
