Jelena J. Mutic is a Full Professor at the Department of Analytical Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade. She holds a PhD in Chemistry and has been employed since 1996, progressing through roles such as Expert Associate, Research Assistant, and Teaching Assistant before attaining her current rank in 2022. Her research focuses on developing electrochemical and optical methods for environmental applications. Education: 1988-1995: Undergraduate studies in Chemistry, University of Belgrade - Faculty of Chemistry 2005: MSc in Chemistry, University of Belgrade - Faculty of Chemistry 2005-2011: PhD in Chemistry, University of Belgrade - Faculty of Chemistry Research Interests: Dr. Mutic specializes in advanced analytical techniques including flow injection analysis, voltammetry, and ICP-AES for environmental and food safety applications. Her work addresses critical issues like heavy metal detection in water, wine analysis, and pharmaceutical quality control. She actively contributes to EU-funded projects such as the Horizon 2020 initiatives IMPTOX (2021-2025) and MOBILES (2024-2027), focusing on microplastics toxicity and pollutant monitoring. Professional Roles: Member of the Committee for Quality Assurance and Improvement (2021-2024) Member of the Board of the Faculty of Chemistry (June 2023–present) Grants & Projects: She leads or participates in multiple research projects including the EU-funded Twinning project FoodEnTwin (2018) and the COST Action CA18130 (2019) as principal investigator.
