Blair Boone-Migura is a Lecturer in Music and Song Literature at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, where he teaches French Mélodie and German Lied. He holds adjunct faculty roles at Hunter College, The New School (Parsons School of Design & Mannes School of Music), and Queensborough Community College. A multifaceted arts professional, he is also the Executive Director and co-host of the Art Song Preservation Society of New York (ASPS), dedicated to revitalizing art song traditions. Blair serves as Arts Administrative Director at the International Vocal Arts Institute (IVAI), co-founded by Joan Dornemann and Paul Nadler. Education: Bachelor’s in Vocal Performance (honors) and Master’s in French Language, Literature, and Culture (Syracuse University) Master’s in Vocal Pedagogy (Westminster Choir College, honors/ distinction) Studies at the Strasbourg Conservatory of Music (France) Research & Expertise: Specializes in French art song composer Henri Duparc, with authored theses and performance expertise in composers like Berlioz, Brahms, Debussy, and Schubert. Advocates for art song preservation through education, performance, and media. Known for his work in French diction coaching and vocal pedagogy. Awards & Recognition: Remembrance Scholar Award (Syracuse University) SU Graduate Teaching Fellowship in French Grants & Collaborations: Collaborated with French American Cultural Exchange on festivals like ART2 and DANSE. Assisted in the Positively Poulenc Vocal Competition under Joy In Singing. Active in music journalism, interviewing artists like Fred Hersch and Wyclef Jean for MetroSource Magazine and NYC Resident . Labs & Organizations: Leads ASPS’s initiatives and participates in IVAI’s global opera singer training programs. Co-hosts the internet-radio show A Toast To Song , promoting art song through interviews and performances.
