David Irwin is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and an Adjunct Professor in the College of Information and Computer Sciences (CICS) at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He leads the Sustainable Computing Lab, focusing on designing energy-efficient distributed systems and improving sustainability in computing infrastructure. His roles include leading the Center for Smart and Connected Society (CS2) and affiliations with the Energy Transition Institute and the Center for Data Science. Education: PhD in Computer Science from Duke University (2005) and BS in Computer Science and Mathematics from Vanderbilt University (2001).
