Karl W. Kuhnert is a Professor in the Practice of Organization & Management at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School and an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the School of Medicine. He also serves as a Senior Faculty Fellow of the Emory Ethics Center. His research focuses on leadership development, decision-making leveraging artificial intelligence, and organizational change, with over 80 peer-reviewed articles and 13 book chapters. He has been recognized with awards such as the Hammer Award (2000) for contributions to the federal government and the Society of Human Resource Management’s best leadership program (2012) for his work with the University System of Georgia Board of Regents. Karl holds a PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Kansas State University, alongside an MS and a BA from Kansas State University and Pennsylvania State University, respectively. His teaching spans leadership, ethics, and organizational change at institutions like UCLA, HEC Paris, and the University of Georgia. He consults with corporations, nonprofits, and government entities including UPS, the Federal Reserve, and the American Cancer Society. His research interests emphasize leadership development trajectories, AI applications in decision-making, and survey methodologies. Notable works include "The Map: Finding Your Path to Effectiveness in Leadership, Life, and Legacy" (2016), which explores strategic frameworks for leadership effectiveness. Karl’s interdisciplinary approach bridges business, medicine, and ethics, reflecting his dual academic roles.
