Michael Goldwasser

Michael Goldwasser is a Professor of Computer Science at Saint Louis University, where he has served since 2003. He previously held positions at Loyola University Chicago and Princeton University. From 2016 to 2022, he was Chair of the Department of Computer Science. His research focuses on algorithms, particularly online computation and approximation algorithms, and he is active in computer science education. Goldwasser has authored multiple textbooks, including Data Structures & Algorithms in Java, Python, and C++, and has contributed to pedagogical tools like the cs1graphics Python package.

Education: Ph.D. in Computer Science (Stanford University), Sc.B. in Math/Computer Science (Brown University). He has taught courses ranging from introductory programming to advanced algorithms, emphasizing both theoretical foundations and practical applications.
