Dr. Stavroula Kanoni is an Associate Professor (Reader) in Nutrigenetics and Cardiovascular Health at Queen Mary University of London's Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, affiliated with the Clinical Pharmacology and Precision Medicine Centre. She holds additional roles as Deputy Academic Lead of the Environment and Health Multidisciplinary Theme, Fellow of the Digital Environment Research Institute (DERI), and Editorial Board member for Nutrigenetics/Nutrigenomics at the Nutrients Journal. Her expertise spans over a decade in cardiovascular genetics, nutrigenetics, and the interplay between genetics, diet, and lifestyle. Education: B.Sc. in Nutrition and Dietetics (Harokopio University, 2003); M.Sc. in Clinical Dietetics (2006); PhD in Nutrigenetics (2010). Research Focus: Genetic architecture of cardiometabolic diseases, polygenic risk scores, multi-ancestry cohorts, and precision medicine applications. Active in consortia like CARDIoGRAMPlusC4D, GLGC, and MAST4HEALTH. Her research integrates genomic, epigenomic, and metabolomic data to develop predictive models for cardiovascular health. Key projects include AI-driven polygenic risk profiling, genetic determinants of lipid levels, and nutraceutical interventions for NAFLD. She has published over 120 peer-reviewed articles, yielding an H-index of 66. Grants & Leadership: Leads the LEAP Collaborate to Innovate Fund project on cardiovascular risk AI tools and contributes to EU Horizon 2020 initiatives.
