Prof. Mehmet Fatih Yanik is a Full Professor at the Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at ETH Zürich and Deputy Head of the Institute of Neuroinformatics. He leads the Yanik Lab, focusing on neurotechnology, neuroengineering, and high-throughput screening systems for drug discovery. His career includes tenured positions at MIT (2006-2014) and postdoctoral work at Stanford University. He holds a BS and MS from MIT (Electrical Engineering/Physics and Computer Science) and a PhD in Applied Physics from Stanford. He pioneered ultra-flexible neural electrodes and non-invasive focused ultrasound neuromodulation. His lab integrates machine learning with neurotechnology to study brain circuit dynamics and anesthetic states.
