His work focuses on aquatic ecosystem monitoring, ecotoxicology, and ichthyology, with a particular emphasis on using fish as bioindicators for environmental health. Doctorate in Environmental Sciences (University of Belgrade, 2020) Master's in Ecology (University of Belgrade, 2015) BSc in Biology (University of Belgrade, 2014) His research interests span ecotoxicology, fish histology, and invasive species dynamics. Recent publications analyze metal accumulation patterns in fish organs, sex-specific toxicity effects, and morphometric adaptations of invasive species like the Amur sleeper. His work bridges environmental monitoring with human health risk assessment. Scientific awards include: Zadužbina Đoka Vlajković Best Scientific Paper Award (2021) City of Belgrade Creativity Award for Young Researchers (2020) Ministry of Education Scholarship for Doctoral Students (2016-2018) Double Vuk Karadžić Academic Excellence Diplomas (2010, 2006) Nikolić contributes to environmental impact assessments and serves on the Ethics Committee at his institute.
