Lisa Ruch, a Professor of Humanities and Assistant Dean of Humanities and General Education at Bay Path University since 2000, specializes in medieval literature and chronicles, with a focus on the interplay between legend and history in the Middle Ages. She teaches courses in literature, writing, and film studies. Master’s in English, Indiana University Doctoral degree in Comparative Literature, Pennsylvania State University Her research spans medieval literature , manuscripts , Arthuriana , and comparative literature . Her publications include a monograph and articles on topics such as the Albina legend, chronicles of Louth Park Abbey, and the role of folklore in medieval texts. Recent works (2023-2025) explore layered historical narratives and conspiracy theories as literary forms. She received Bay Path University’s Faculty Outstanding Research, Scholarly Activity, and Creative Works Prize in 2013. A member of the Medieval Academy of America, Early English Text Society, and other scholarly organizations, she also volunteers with non-profits like Pioneer Valley Cappella, Inc. and Hybrid Vigor Music, Inc., while pursuing interests in horse care and choral singing.
