Gretchen Salsich, Ph.D., PT is a Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training at the Doisy College of Health Sciences, Saint Louis University. Her research focuses on biomechanical factors contributing to musculoskeletal pain and the efficacy of rehabilitation strategies. Key areas include lower extremity kinematics, dynamic knee valgus, and movement pattern interventions for conditions such as patellofemoral pain and hip-related groin pain. Education: Post-Doctoral Fellowship: Biokinesiology & Physical Therapy, University of Southern California Ph.D. in Movement Science: Washington University Bachelor of Physical Therapy: Saint Louis University Research Interests: Dr. Salsich employs 3D motion analysis, electromyography, and clinical measures to study joint mechanics and rehabilitation outcomes. Her work has been funded by NIH and the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Recent studies explore disparities in physical therapy utilization, movement pattern training for pain reduction, and kinematic analysis in hip and knee pathologies. Grants & Awards: NIH and APTA grants support her research. She is active in professional organizations like the APTA's Orthopedic and Research Sections and the Gait & Clinical Movement Analysis Society. Labs & Teams: Involved in clinical and biomechanics labs at Saint Louis University, focusing on musculoskeletal rehabilitation and movement analysis.
