Mary Frances Pipino, PhD is Professor and Interim Dean of the School of Arts, Sciences and Professional Studies at Ursuline College. She also serves as Director of the Core Curriculum and is affiliated with the Department of Humanities where she teaches courses in ethnic American women's literature and related fields. Dr. Pipino specializes in ethnic American women's literature, feminist theory and literary criticism, with particular expertise in Italian-American women writers. Her research extends to world literature and popular culture studies. She earned her doctorate from the University of Cincinnati and published her dissertation "I Have Found My Voice": The Italian-American Woman Writer through Peter Lang in 2000. Dr. Pipino has established herself as a respected scholar in multi-ethnic literature, with publications spanning several decades in significant academic venues including Voices in Italian Americana, MELUS: Multi-Ethnic Literature of the United States, and The Greenwood Encyclopedia of Multiethnic Literature, with recent contributions to the Modern Language Association's collection on Teaching Anglophone Caribbean Literature. As Interim Dean, she provides academic leadership for the School of Arts, Sciences and Professional Studies while maintaining active scholarly engagement in her research areas.
