Yincheng Jin is an Assistant Professor at Binghamton University's School of Computing. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University at Buffalo (2023). His research focuses on the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), mobile computing, and artificial intelligence, with an emphasis on health and well-being applications. His work includes developing wearable systems, machine learning algorithms, and mobile technologies for smart health monitoring and accessibility solutions like ASL recognition. Key research interests include: Wearable sensing technologies for health monitoring Gesture and emotion recognition systems Security systems based on biometric features Context-aware IoT applications Recent publications explore innovations such as earphone-based facial reconstruction, acoustic gesture interaction, and non-invasive respiratory monitoring. His work bridges hardware innovation with machine learning to create practical health and accessibility solutions. Notable contributions include: Developing VTMonitor for tidal volume estimation via earbuds Creating Signring for continuous ASL recognition Advancing acoustic-based authentication systems ( Earppg , VibPath ) Prior experience includes an internship at Samsung Research America’s Digital Health Department.
