John Koeplin is a Full-Time Professor of Accounting at the University of San Francisco's McLaren School of Business, Department of Accounting. His work integrates ethics and Jesuit educational values into accounting practices, emphasizing transparency and integrity in financial decision-making. He holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of North Texas (1998), an MBA in Taxation from Golden Gate University (1983), and a Master of Divinity from Regis School of Theology (1991), where he was ordained as a Roman Catholic Priest. Dr. Koeplin has held leadership roles, including Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (2005–2006) and Chair of the Academic Standards Committee (1998–2005). He serves on the Board of Trustees for Downtown College Preparatory School (San Jose) and has contributed to Santa Clara University and USF boards. His research focuses on ethical leadership, Jesuit pedagogy, and sustainability reporting, yielding awards like the McLaughlin Prize (2000) and USF's Outstanding Teaching Award (2003). His publications explore topics such as Ignatian pedagogy, Jesuit values in curricula, and the intersection of Catholic social teaching with accounting education. He advocates for holistic education, ensuring students understand the societal impacts of financial choices.
