Elana Olson is the Director of the Eckstein Law Library and Director of the Labor & Employment Law Program at Marquette University Law School, where she also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law. She teaches Advanced Legal Research and Labor Law, and advises the Labor & Employment Law Society and the Marquette Benefits & Social Welfare Law Review. Education: J.D., College of William & Mary Masters of Library and Information Science, University of Wisconsin Milwaukee B.S., Kelley School of Business, Indiana University Her research and professional interests center on labor and employment law, legal research methodologies, and law library administration. With a background in both legal practice and library science, Professor Olson bridges practical legal training with information literacy in legal education. She contributes to curriculum development in first-year Legal Research, Writing and Analysis, and advanced specialty courses. Professor Olson is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, the American Bar Association, and the American Association of Law Libraries. She has held leadership roles as past president of the Law Librarians Association of Wisconsin and the Mid-American Law Library Consortium, and past chair of the Conference of Law Libraries of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. These roles highlight her influence in law library policy and collaboration across academic institutions. She joined Marquette University Law School in 2008, initially providing part-time evening and weekend reference support while completing her library degree. Her ongoing service reflects a dedicated commitment to legal education and information access.
