Hans Baumann is a Researcher at the University of Tübingen , affiliated with the Faculty of Philosophy and Romance Studies Department . His interdisciplinary research bridges linguistics, history, and language didactics, focusing on early modern foreign language acquisition during travel, multilingualism in German-French contexts, and digital humanities applications. Education: B.Ed. and M.Ed. in French and History (University of Tübingen, 2017-2022) Current Roles: Researcher (2022-present), Lecturer (since 2025) in Modern History, and former Student Assistant in multiple departments His dissertation project, conducted under a cotutelle between University of Tübingen and Université de Tours, analyzes: Framework conditions for foreign language learning in early modern travel contexts Linguistic phenomena (interference, code-switching) in correspondence between travelers and home His recent lectures and courses address interdisciplinary methodologies, historical multilingualism, and corpus-based linguistic analysis across European and colonial contexts.
