Caterina Papatheu is a Researcher in Modern and Contemporary Greek Language and Literature at the Department of Humanities, University of Catania, Italy. She holds a Doctor of Research in Greek and Latin Philology from the same university and has held teaching and research positions at the University of Calabria and the University of Catania. She has also served as a Visiting Professor at Panteion University in Athens and conducted academic seminars across Europe. She explores literary translation, urban development in Greece, language and dialect issues, national identity, diaspora, the emergence of Greek printing and book markets, 16th–19th century literary and essayistic production, and the role of popular traditions and Risorgimento myths in text and iconography. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges philology, history, and cultural studies. She serves as the national commissioner for degree sessions on behalf of the Italian Ministry of Education. She is the director of two editorial series: one for Bonanno Publishing House (Rome–Acireale) and another for the Dante Alighieri Publishing Company. She coordinates the Examination Center for the International Certification of Proficiency in Modern Greek, accredited by the Hellenic Ministry of Education, and leads the International University Specialization Course in “Management and Communication of the Territory” at the University of Catania. Labs, Teams, and Collaborations: She has collaborated with research centers in Greece and Turkey, spent extended periods at the Maison des Sciences de l'Homme in Paris under Maurice Aymard, and worked with the Foundation INDA. She has been a scientific collaborator at the Center for Modern History Research (K.E.N.I.) at Panteion University, focusing on Greco-Turkish relations in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
